Akshay Kumar, the star of movies like Rustom, will play the role of an Indian who gets involved in an assassination plot in China. This is his biggest role to date and the second installment in a trilogy that has yet to be confirmed or denied by Warner Bros. The movie is set to release on January 11th 2019. The movie is directed by Chandra Prakash Dwivedi and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Sameer Dharmadhikari under the banner of Excel Entertainment. The film has music composed by Pritam and lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Javed Akhtar. It was written by Manish Gajja, Rahul Dev Burman, Rajinder Singh Babbar while the dialogues are penned by Manoj Shah. The movie is based on a book titled "Chandni Chowk to China" written By Khushwant Singh. The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Deepika Padukone, Mithun Chakraborty, Nikitin Dheer, Kumud Mishra and Feroz Khan. Munna (Akshay Kumar), is a small-time crook who's caught in the middle of a series of adventures in Chandni Chowk where he not only encounters Anupam Kher but also crosses paths with his uncle (Paresh Rawal) and the dreaded Chinese mafia. Reviews for the movie were mostly negative. Some appreciated Paresh's role in which he played an angry detective. Munna's supporting cast got negative reviews. Some appreciated Deepika's role in which she plays a complicated lady who falls in love with Akshay. However, films not two films down from this one (Rustom and Phir Hera Pheri) were receiving positive responses. Akshay Kumar, since his debut with "Mujra" has gone on to act in three more films; Rustom (1993), Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1999), and Phir Hera Pheri (2002). He has since then suffered major setbacks in his career due to poor sequels like "Courtyard Brothers" (1999), "Citizen" (2000) and Mardaani" (2015). Following yet another poor sequel to "Airlift" (2016), it is safe to assume that Akshay Kumar will not be up to the mark and will continue to disappoint his fans. However, the discovery of a new talented actor in Anupam Kher has made many hopeful that Akshay Kumar's career can take a turn for the better.

The film was released on 14 December 2018 all over India. This film gives Paresh Rawal as an action hero as well as Mithun Chakraborty. The first look posters of this film were released at the Bakrid festival on 21 October 2018 in Nawada, Bihar by Anupam Kher and it got a positive response from people there.
